The Work Skills and Job Ready course is designed to enhance work readiness by developing essential skills and understanding employer expectations as a new employee. This course builds on various skill sets to improve prospects for paid employment or voluntary work. Key topics include creating resumes, developing interview techniques, job preparation, and guidance on professional work wear. Through engaging role-playing and research exercises, you will gain practical insights and confidence to succeed in your employment journey.

Passport to Work

The Passport to Work program, approved by Workforce Australia and Transition to Work, is designed to help job seekers develop the skills needed for sustainable employment. In partnership with JUNO Institute, AMES, Asuria, and Hume City Council, this interactive training boosts motivation, energy, self-esteem, and confidence. You will improve your communication skills for better outcomes and gain a deeper understanding of employer expectations. The course also provides access to professional career guides to support job market navigation, ensuring you are well-equipped for success.

Sewing for Life

This course is an ideal introduction to sewing and garment-making using a sewing machine. Learn how to set up your machine, read patterns, select fabrics, and master finishing techniques. Gain hands-on experience with your overlocker, including threading, adjusting tension, and working on seams and hems. Practice sewing buttons, zippers, and buttonholes, and build confidence by making a simple garment, such as pyjama pants.
