21Plus is a driving program for young people aged over 21 to 25 years who experience barriers to obtaining their licence.
Program eligibility
- Resident of Hume
- Age 21– 25 years
- Must have barriers such as lack of access to a car or a supervising driver.
Services provided
- Assistance for applying for identity documents.
- Driving lessons (up to 8) guided by a suitable instructor to prepare for the licensing process.
- Collaboration with a legal service to offer advice and support to those that are dealing with issues such as fines, warrants and charges.
- Work and Development permit scheme (WDP) which provides a non-financial way to pay off fines by way of engaging in mentoring or volunteering.
- Referral to a wide range of services for those with barriers outside of driving.
