BGCS operations as of 7 July 2020

As many of you are aware Victoria is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases, with Broadmeadows being identified as one of ten hotspots across metropolitan Melbourne. As of 7 July, there are no confirmed cases at any of BGCS’s sites or operations.

Following advice from the Victorian Government, Banksia Gardens Community Services headquarters in Pearcedale Parade will be closed to the general public from 7 July 2020. Some of our programs and services operations will be on hold for the time being and other programs/services are operating online.

Services and programs that will continue to operate (some remotely), but with some changes:

  • Food parcels at both BGCS headquarters and at Kenley Court Neighbourhood House
  • Adult education classes (ACFE)
  • Broadmeadows Youth Justice Alliance
  • Good People Act Now (GPAN) 
  • Social Cohesion Through Education
  • Project REAL – students have now gone on holidays
  • The Gateway School – students have now gone on holidays
  • Youth Transitions
  • Family Learning Partnership
  • Study Group & associated activities (Arts & Craft, Mindfulness etc)
  • Aiming High VCE Support Program
  • HIPPY Program – this will continue, but online. Please contact Lauren Ireland on for more information
  • AtWork Australia

  • Hall/venue hire
