SSAFE Projects is an innovative, youth-led project designed to support local Same-Sex Attracted and Sex/Gender Diverse (SSASGD) young people, friends, families as well as the community. SSAFE Projects will provide strong links to information, services, creative outlets, support networks, friendships, training and educational opportunities.
SSAFE Projects plans to increase community engagement and participation around SSASGD issues through community events, tailored participation programs and advisory groups that will be led by the young participants and supported by the different agencies, which will embrace a Queer*/Straight Alliance framework.

*Queer is a reclaimed word that represents sexuality and gender diversity. We use it to encompass lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and, intersex. This word is used by many people, but it is also acknowledged that it is not the preferred term for everybody. A Queer Straight Alliance is a whole-society approach to reducing queer based prejudice and developing a more inclusive society.
