Second Chance Project

3969-2-1-CVGT-Australia-Second-Chance-logo-LOW-RESBanksia Gardens Community Services and CVGT Australia (two local organisations based in Hume) have partnered up to provide a new program called the Jobs Victoria Employment Network (JVEN) Second Chance Program.

The JVEN Second Chance Program is a new State Government funded service that commenced on 2 November 2016, supporting people who have court related issues presenting at the Broadmeadows Magistrates Court gain employment opportunities.

The JVEN Second Chance team are committed to work closely with legal representatives, employers and community support services to identify job opportunities and support participants be placed into employment and sustain their role– hence the name Second Chance in the hope that by engaging successfully in the program the participant will have greater court outcomes and placed into employment.

If you’re a job seeker, we like to make things as easy as possible for you, through understanding, guidance and support. Our Second Chance program has been specially designed to offer an alternative employment activity for people before the court*. Our staff work closely with legal representatives, employers and community support services to identify job opportunities and prepare participants for those roles. From your first appointment, you will be engaged in activities supported by our trained and experienced staff to make you work-ready, and to help you into work.
